Hmmmm…
Two days ago I was feeling much better, almost back to my usual self. Yesterday wasn’t better though, I took a turn back downward again. Can’t figure that one out - it didn’t follow the usual pattern after an infusion. Took my temp and it was 97…(could have been run down because I didn’t fall asleep until 6:30 am the night before). Everything in my body was aching (similar to the Neulasta pains) and then the palms of my hands turned bright red, felt swollen, and started itching and burning like crazy. It was literally unbearable for about 30 minutes. I ended up sitting on the couch holding bags of frozen peas and broccoli to try to get the burning to subside. (For anyone who has seen the movie “Bridesmaids” I immediately pictured the main character’s roommate opening the bag of peas and dumping them on herself). I really need to get Chris to see that movie so I can stop laughing to myself all the time and just quote it out loud. It worked, but as soon as I would take my hands off you could watch them turn bright red again and start burning. It was bad enough that I considered trying to reach the doctor on call in the hematology clinic at Moffitt. Before doing that I tried taking a Benadryl, and it went away. Delayed allergic reaction to chemo? Who knows. Was really disappointed that i had to miss my book study and trivia night. Luckily I randomly felt great on Crystals birthday so I was able to celebrate with her and see friends. Appointment today with the radiation oncologist to hear his thoughts…exciting! Then we get to watch Chris’ mom in her swim meet and Jovanna moves down to Sarasota!!!! Exciting few days ahead!
